Mega-Voice Continues To Bear Fruit PDF Print E-mail

April 1, 2009

We have recently received an exciting report about the Mega-Voice ministry taking place in the villages of Northern India.  API has been providing the word of God in audio form for several years now, and it has proven to be extremely fruitful.  With a majority of the villagers being illiterate, an audio version of the Bible is essential for church planting and disciple making.  The solar-powered Mega-Voice players are distributed in various villages.

API distributed 2 Mega-Voice sets this past September in a village near Varanasi, India in which approximately 600 people reside.  In only 6 months time over 400 people heard the gospel and 65 of them committed their lives to Christ.  Also, as a result 11 churches were planted.  The Mega-Voice continues to be used today in this small village as these new believers hunger to learn the word of God.

In a larger village of Northern India consisting of approximately 3,000 people, only one Mega-Voice set was given in September 2008.  This village is 75% illiterate so the need for an audio bible was critical!  In a short time over 400 people had heard the gospel and 100 of these accepted Christ as their Savior! The leader of this village has since planted 5 churches through the use of this one Mega-Voice player!  The word of God is powerful and effective!

There are many more testimonies of how the Lord is using these audio bibles to build His kingdom and draw men, women, and children to Himself.  In the last report we received of only a small portion of those involved in the Mega-Voice ministry, there were 38 churches planted and 339 new believers as a result of only 7 Mega-Voice players! "God's word will not return void!"  Please continue to pray for the success of API to distribute these players in the villages of Northern India and for those that are encountered with the Word of God to have ears to hear!

Part two

The leaders drove the Lubbock visitors to the station in Kolkata where they were greeted by the railway children.  These children are homeless and they either beg or sell contraband that is stolen or they have some means of exploitation to gain money for their paltry existence.  The children take a break from their begging to visit with the counselors three times a week.  The counselors make friends with them and discuss how they can escape the situation in which they have been forced.  Some of the children have voluntarily chosen the railway life and they are unaware that there are other options.   Everyone went to a nearby restaurant and the children happily ate a full meal while visiting with counselors and one another.  There was much noise and excitement because of the meal and the pictures that were taken.  They all wanted their pictures taken and to see the resulting snapshot.  The first relationships between counselors and children are usually made with the older children.  Sometimes it will take two months before they trust enough to bring other children to participate in the free meal.

One child was new to the station he was abandoned there just the day before.  The young boy was disoriented and in an obvious daze.  Just after the groups’ arrival he nearly walked in front of a moving train. Thankfully he was helped by one of the other children while members of the group shouted at him to become aware of the train.  He was wearing a long shirt with no pants, shoes or underwear.  Praise God he was not hurt!  Hopefully he can be persuaded to come to the home so that API can tend to his basic needs, learn his story and later minister to him.
